Fire on Ice BBQ Championship Team and Judging Information

2025 Fire on Ice is sanctioned by KCBS as a Master Series Contest.  As a participant you are required to be familiar with and abide by the most recently released KCBS Master Series Official Rules and Regulations. 

The first cut-off will be at 42 teams (with a hold of 6 additional spots for sponsor teams). Land space is limited - we reserve the right to limit trailer sizes.  Final team count will depend on trailer sizes and preference of land or ice sites. Entry fee of $300 will be collected after confirmation and team layout is finalized. 

A minimum of $5,000 will be paid out to the Top 3 Overall and Top 10 in each of the four categories (see file below for Guaranteed Minimum Payouts).  Fire on Ice has never been a "top heavy" payout contest -- the love is spread out so more teams can take home some rewards.  As team count and sponsor dollars come in, the payouts may be increased.

Trophies will be awarded to the Top 3 Overall and Top 10 in each of the four categories. AND, each top 10 category winner will receive a highly coveted Limited Edition 2025 Fire on Ice Beanie!

Let's face it, Fire on Ice would not be the same without the Anything Alcohol category.  For 2025, there will be an entry fee of $25 (one entry per team).  Payouts, rules and trophies are still being developed.  We are contemplating a Friday night turn in with 2 staggered turn in times, say 7:00 & 7:30 PM. 

No electricity is provided or available at the contest site.  Please be prepared to provide your own generator if you need electricity.

You must indicate on your application if you would like to cook on the ice or land, and the trailer size must be included.  Since ice conditions cannot be guaranteed until closer to the contest, we reserve the right to limit the size of trailers in order to accommodate all teams on land if ice conditions are not suitable. 

Indicate on your team or judging application if you would be interested in on-site lodging at Izatys (hotel or townhome/villa). DO NOT CONTACT IZATYS FOR ANY RESERVATIONS. WE WILL CONTACT YOU ONCE YOUR PARTICIPATION AT FIRE ON ICE HAS BEEN CONFIRMED.

Once your participation at Fire on Ice has been determined, you will receive an email confirmation.  

You will also receive a detailed letter with more contest specifics prior to the contest to help you plan accordingly.
